Objectives

This training aims to impart the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effectively performing the duties of a software development project manager, specifically in terms of creating schedules and monitoring their implementation.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and apply the most effective methods for planning and monitoring project execution.

This training does not cover: An in-depth study of Agile project execution principles.

  • Advanced aspects of project management at an expert level, as well as foundations of project management (see Prerequisites)
  • A comprehensive examination of planning tools (scheduling) and project execution control. These topics are addressed in separate training courses (see Recommended Training).

Target Audience

  • Newly Promoted Project Managers: Those who are newly promoted and transitioning into project management roles.
  • Experienced Project Managers: Individuals with some experience in project management seeking to deepen their understanding and refine their skills.

The expected level of participants’ experience is outlined in the Prerequisites section.

Prerequisites

  • Passing of training PM-001 or knowledge / understanding of the topics covered;
  • Experience in software development projects;
  • Knowledge of the basics of project management and at least some practical experience;

Note: Lack of practical managerial experience is acceptable if it is compensated by prior theoretical knowledge in the field of project management, an active interest in this topic and readiness to make every effort to keep up with more experienced colleagues (working in the same group).
